ÇANAKKALE CERAMIC FESTIVAL

"Little Masters of Çanakkale"
This exhibition features the colorful and creative works of students aged 7 to 14 from the Gelibolu Science and Art Center. The exhibited pieces include traditional Çanakkale ceramics, such as handcrafted çarık-style shoes, pitchers, plates, animal-shaped vessels, and a single ceramic panel—all shaped and formed by the students themselves in the school's ceramic workshop.

Since its establishment in 2023, the Gelibolu Science and Art Center has been providing education to gifted and talented students. Outside of regular school hours, students receive supportive training in their identified talent areas such as general intelligence, visual arts, or music. The center serves a wide range of students, from the second grade of primary school to the final year of high school. From the end of second grade onward, students are introduced to project-based learning and engage in producing various projects across different grades and talent areas until the end of middle school.

Our students actively represent our school in national and international competitions. All teachers at the institution are highly motivated and enthusiastic about project development and execution.

İREM ÇALIŞICI PALA

TRACES OF TURKISH AGE ANATOLIAN CERAMICS.

THE STORY OF THE CITY.
A city famous for its legends, epics written about it. A city that has shaped Turkish history.
It took its name from the pot, for centuries the soil came to life in human hands and became a horse or a fish. The colours became a secret, blossomed and became spring.
Çanakkale stories that come to life in tiles, which are an integral part of the city's identity and combine the past and the present in one frame, in short, a part of Anatolia that makes us who we are, the narratives of these lands that have come to life in tiles.
In my works that I set out with these thoughts, the viewer will encounter 4 narratives in each work.
In my opinion, I hope to go on a journey with tiles in my exhibition, which is a continuation of the exhibition SEYRİ SEFER ÇANAKKALE, which I set out with the title Çanakkalke, which was opened in the City Museum in May 2022.

HERITAGE OF THE EARTH: Çanakkale Ceramics

Organized by the Association for Preserving Traditional Çanakkale Ceramics, this meaningful exhibition takes place within the scope of the International Çanakkale Ceramic Festival: May 9–17, 2025.

Emerging from the abundance earth of Çanakkale, these traditional forms act as time capsules, carrying the traces of the past into the present.

In this exhibition, where traditional motifs meet contemporary interpretations, each piece reflects both the spirit of the artist and the story of the earth. Every color, every pattern resonates with the deep echoes of Çanakkale.

"Heritage of the Earth: Çanakkale Ceramics" is not only a showcase of ceramics but also a reflection of a culture, a history, and a geography. It is a bridge between the past and the future, a story told through the universal language of art.

We warmly invite you to discover this unique heritage and listen to the voice of the earth at the Fine Arts Gallery.

At CHANAK: International Ceramic Exhibition

Throughout history, Çanakkale has been a crossroads where earth, water, and fire converge, a transition point between continents and cultures. Like the “bowl” it is named after, Çanakkale brings together different geographies, traditions, and stories, becoming a bearer of a shared memory.

Today, the “at CHANAK” exhibition, held as part of the International Çanakkale Ceramic Festival, reinterprets this multi-layered heritage through both contemporary and traditional perspectives. Artists from diverse regions meet here, communicating through the universal language of ceramics, confronting the space and cultural transitions together; weaving a shared narrative with clay, the carrier of memories, traces, and dreams.

at CHANAK focuses on the ongoing interactions between East and West, the flow between the past and the present, and the role of ceramics as both a material and symbolic meeting ground. Artists reinterpret form, memory, and culture in their own languages, transforming Çanakkale into a renewed space for encounter.

This exhibition is a celebration not of a reunion or the end of a journey, but of a continuously evolving and transforming gathering.
